The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

52 - THE THREE ANNUAL PILGRIMAGES

Exodus 23:14 -- “Three times you shall keep a feast to Me in the year: the Feast of Unleavened Bread + the Feast of Harvest + the Feast of Ingathering at the end of the year, when you have gathered in the fruit of your labors from the field.”

Taking the offerings during the pilgrimages

Deuteronomy 16:11 -- “You shall rejoice before the LORD your God, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, the Levite who is within your gates, the stranger and the fatherless and the widow who are among you, at the place where the Lord your God chooses to make His name abide.”

The Mishnah relates that among the regular officers serving in the Temple was one appointed to dig wells and cisterns to provide water for the pilgrims to Jerusalem.* A month before the Passover Festival laborers were sent out by the Sanhedrin to repair the paths and roads that had been damaged by the winter rains, in readiness for the approaching pilgrimage.**
