The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

89 - THE PRIESTS EATING THE MEAT OF CONSECRATED OFFERINGS

Exodus 29:33 -- “They shall eat those things with which the atonement was made, to consecrate and to sanctify them; but an outsider shall not eat them, because they are holy.”
Leviticus 10:17 -- “Why have you not eaten the sin offering in a holy place, since it is most holy, and God has given it to you to bear the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them before the LORD?”
Leviticus 7:6 -- “Every male among the priests may eat it. It shall be eaten in a holy place. It is most holy.”
Numbers 18:7 -- “Therefore you and your sons with you shall attend to your priesthood for everything at the altar and behind the veil; and you shall serve. I give your priesthood to you as a gift for service, but the outsider who comes near shall be put to death.”

The Sifra says: “Whence do you learn that the eating of the consecrated offerings by the priests makes atonement for all Israel? From the words of Scripture: and God has given it to you to bear the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them (Leviticus 10:17). How so? The priests eat, and Israel gets atonement.”*
