The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

112 - THE LEPER TO BE MADE DISTINGUISHABLE

Leviticus 13:45 -- “Now the leper on whom the sore is, his clothes shall be torn and his head bare; and he shall cover his mustache, and cry, 'Unclean! Unclean!'”
Leviticus 21:10 -- “He who is the high priest among his brethren, on whose head the anointing oil was poured and who is consecrated to wear the garments, shall not uncover his head nor tear his clothes.”

Maimonides gives the natural reason for the isolation of a leper: “Leprosy is besides a contagious disease, and people almost naturally abhor it, and keep away from it.”*
