The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

147 - COVERING THE BLOOD OF SLAIN BIRDS AND ANIMALS

Leviticus 17:13 -- "Whatever man of the children of Israel, or of the strangers who dwell among you, who hunts and catches any animal or bird that may be eaten, he shall pour out its blood and cover it with dust.”

“In covering up (the blood) one is not to do so with his foot, but (must use) his hand, or a knife, or a vessel, so that his conduct should show no disrespect, lest he thereby acquire a slighting attitude towards the commandments (in general); for the respect he is called upon to show is not intended for the commandments themselves, but for Him (blessed be He) who has commanded us (in their observance), and has saved us from groping in darkness; who has set for us a lamp to (guide us in) correcting that which is perverse, and a light which is to reveal to us the paths of righteousness. Thus it is said: Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. (Psalms 119:105)”*
