The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

10 - STUDYING IDOLATROUS PRACTICES

Leviticus 19:4 -- “Do not turn to idols, nor make for yourselves molded gods: I am the LORD your God.”
Deuteronomy 11:6 -- “Take heed to yourselves, lest your heart be deceived, and you turn aside and serve other gods and worship them.”
Deuteronomy 4:19 -- “And take heed, lest you lift your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, you feel driven to worship them and serve them, which the LORD your God has given to all the peoples under the whole heaven as a heritage.”
Deuteronomy 12:30 -- “Take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, 'How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.”

Whoever transgresses this prohibition is liable to whipping. This applies only where an overt act is involved, as where the idol is covered and the person concerned removes its veil in order to look at it.*
