17 - LOVING THE PERSON WHO SEEKS TO MISLEAD HIM INTO IDOLATRY


Deuteronomy 13:8 --You shall not consent to him or listen to him, nor shall your eye pity him, nor shall you spare him or conceal him”

The Sifre says: “From the general principle: you shall love your neighbor as yourself (Leviticus 19:18), I might think that we are commanded to love (the misleader): Scripture therefore says, You shall not consent to him.”*
