The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

67 - INTERRUPTING THE WATCH OVER THE SANCTUARY

Numbers 18:5 -- “And you shall attend to the duties of the sanctuary and the duties of the altar, that there may be no more wrath on the children of Israel.”

According to the “Sefer ha-Chinuch”, paying honor to the sanctuary promotes an attitude of reverence and awe towards it, so that when we enter it to offer our prayers and supplications before the Lord of the Universe, our hearts will be more readily attuned to true repentance.
