152 - SPENDING THE REDEMPTION MONEY OF THE SECOND TITHE EXCEPT ON FOOD AND DRINK

Deuteronomy 26:14 -- “I have not eaten any of it when in mourning, nor have I removed any of it for any unclean use, nor given any of it for the dead. I have obeyed the voice of the LORD my God, and have done according to all that You have commanded me.”
Deuteronomy 14:26 -- “And you shall spend that money for whatever your heart desires: for oxen or sheep, for wine or similar drink, for whatever your heart desires; you shall eat there before the LORD your God, and you shall rejoice, you and your household.”

One who spends any of the money on other things must spend an equivalent amount on food in Jerusalem.*
