The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

258 - SELLING A HEBREW BONDMAN BY PUBLIC AUCTION

Leviticus 25:42 -- “For they are My servants, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt; they shall not be sold as slaves.”

By this prohibition, it is forbidden to sell a Hebrew bondman as Canaanite bondmen are sold, that is, to put him up for sale by public auction in the slave-market. This may on no account be done; the sale must take place privately and in proper conditions.
