Previous Prohibition -- Next Prohibition

The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

292 - KILLING A MURDERER WITHOUT A TRAIL

Numbers 35:12 -- “They shall be cities of refuge for you from the avenger, that the manslayer may not die until he stands before the congregation in judgment.”

By this prohibition, we are forbidden to slay the perpetrator of a crime, whom we have seen doing something punishable by death, before he is brought to trial. He must be brought to trial, and evidence against him must be given to the court; we can only testify against him, and the court will pass judgment on him for any offence he has committed.
