20. For Readers of the Qur'an
BOOKLET 4 - NAMES AND ATTRIBUTES OF CHRIST IN THE QUR'AN

17) Confirmer of the Truth of the Torah (مصدق لما بين يديه من التوراة)

The Qur'an tells us that Allah sent Christ to our world to confirm the truth and infallibility of the Torah, for in it there is "guidance and light". Christ and his Gospel testify of the accountability of the Shari'a of Moses, as we read, "Truly, I say to you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke from the Law will pass away until all is fulfilled." (Matthew 5:18) The Son of Mary gave emphasis to his own words saying, "Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away." (Matthew 24:35)

Qur'anic references to Christ as confirming the truth and infallibility of the Torah: Suras al-Ma'ida 5:46-47; -- al-Saff 61:6 etc.
