116 - Opening: Proverbs 30:6 and Prayer“Do not add to God's words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.” (Proverbs 30:6) PRAYER: Our God in heaven, you are full of wisdom and understanding. You have shared with us in the Bible what we need to know from you. However, you see that we often ask questions that your word does not answer. We want to go beyond what your word reveals. Please protect us from such evil speculations, which have brought about much fighting among believers. Give us the humility and power to stand by what your word teaches and not lust for additional teachings, so that we do not fall prey to Satan, who loves adding his lies to your truth. We pray this in Jesus' name, Amen. |
