The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

77 - ANY UNCLEAN PERSON ENTERING ANY PART OF THE SANCTUARY

Numbers 5:3 -- “You shall put out both male and female; you shall put them outside the camp, that they may not defile their camps in the midst of which I dwell.”
Leviticus 12:4 -- “She shall then continue in the blood of her purification thirty-three days. She shall not touch any hallowed thing, nor come into the sanctuary until the days of her purification are fulfilled.”

This negative commandment includes all unclean persons, who by scriptural law must immerse themselves in a ritual bath to become clean, and also the tevul yom.*

* Mishneh Torah, Abodah, Hilchoth Biath ha-Mikdash III, 14

“Among other things that tend to display the greatness and the glory of the Temple and to inspire us with awe, is the rule that none shall approach it in a state of drunkenness or uncleanness, or in a disorderly condition, i.e. the hair undressed and the garments rent.”*

* Moreh Nebuchim III, 45
