After the dashing of the blood on the Altar, the peace offering could be eaten anywhere in Jerusalem, by any man, during two days and a night; the thank offering could be eaten anywhere in Jerusalem, by any man, on that day and night until midnight. The firstling was eaten only by the priests, and the tithe of cattle by any man; both could be eaten anywhere in the Holy City during two days and a night. The Passover offering could be eaten during that night and until midnight only, and it could be eaten only by the number of people assigned to it.* * Zeb. 55a; 56b
