147 - EATING LESSER HOLY OFFERINGS BEFORE DASHING THEIR BLOOD ON THE ALTAR

Deuteronomy 12:17 -- “You may not eat within your gates the tithe of your grain or your new wine or your oil, of the firstlings of your herd or your flock, of any of your offerings which you vow, of your freewill offerings, or of the heave offering of your hand.”

After the dashing of the blood on the Altar, the peace offering could be eaten anywhere in Jerusalem, by any man, during two days and a night; the thank offering could be eaten anywhere in Jerusalem, by any man, on that day and night until midnight. The firstling was eaten only by the priests, and the tithe of cattle by any man; both could be eaten anywhere in the Holy City during two days and a night. The Passover offering could be eaten during that night and until midnight only, and it could be eaten only by the number of people assigned to it.*
