206 - A NAZIRITE EATING THE HUSKS OF GRAPES

Numbers 6:4 -- “All the days of his separation he shall eat nothing that is produced by the grapevine, from seed to skin.”

The Mishnah says: “There is a separate penalty for wine, for grapes, for kernels of grapes and for husks of grapes”;* and in the Gemara of Nazir it says explicitly: “If a Nazirite ate fresh grapes, dried grapes, the kernels of grapes, and the husks of grapes, and squeezed a cluster of grapes and drank the liquor, he would be liable to whipping on five counts.”**
