211 - GATHERING EARS OF CORN THAT FELL DURING THE HARVEST


Leviticus 19:9 -- “…nor shall you gather the gleanings of your harvest.”
Leviticus 23:22 -- “… nor shall you gather any gleaning from your harvest. You shall leave them for the poor and for the stranger: I am the LORD your God.”

The claims of the poor to their dues are valid even in doubtful cases. Where a doubt exists in any matter affecting their rights, Jewish law holds their rights superior to those of the owner.*
