The Sharia of Muhammad in the KORAN

Worship 7 - Sacrifices (dhabaa'ih)

Sura al-Ma'ida 5:1 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:1 (Hanf+Hanb) - 'Uqud (Contracts)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:1 (Hanf+Shaf) - At'ima (Food)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:1 (Hanf+Hanb) - Sayd (Hunting)

5:1 O true believers, perform your contracts. Ye are allowed [to eat] the brute cattle, other than what ye are commanded [to abstain from], except the game which ye are allowed [at other times, but not] while ye are on pilgrimage [to Mecca]; God ordaineth that which he pleaseth.

Sura al-Ma'ida 5:2 (Malik+Shaf) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:2 (Malik) - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:2 (Hanf+Shaf+Hanb) - Sayd (Hunting)

5:2 O true believers, violate not the holy rites of God, nor the sacred month, nor the offering, nor the ornaments hung [thereon], nor those who are travelling to the holy house, seeking favour from their Lord, and to please [him]. But when ye shall have finished [your pilgrimage]; then hunt. And let not the malice of some, in that they hindred you [from entring] the sacred temple, provoke you to transgress, [by taking revenge on them in the sacred months]. Assist one another according to justice and piety, but assist not one another in injustice and malice: Therefore fear God; for God is severe in punishing.

Sura al-Ma'ida 5:3 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:3 (Hanf+Malik+Shaf+Hanb) - At'ima (Food)

5:3 Ye are forbidden [to eat] that which dieth of it self, and blood, and swine's flesh, and that on which the name of any besides God, hath been invocated; and that which hath been strangled, or killed by a blow, or by a fall, or by the horns [of another beast], and that which hath been eaten by a wild beast, except what ye shall kill [your selves]; and that which hath been sacrificed unto idols. [It is likewise unlawful for you] to make division by casting lots with arrows. This is an impiety. On this day, wo be unto those who have apostatized from their religion; therefore fear not them, but fear me. This day have I perfected your religion for you, and have compleated my mercy upon you; and I have chosen for you Islam, [to be your] religion. But whosoever shall be driven by necessity through hunger, [to eat of what we have forbidden], not designing to sin, surely God [will be] indulgent [and] merciful [unto him].

Sura al-Ma'ida 5:27 (Hanf) - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

5:27 Relate also unto them the history of the two sons of Adam, with truth. When they offered [their] offering, and it was accepted from one of them, and was not accepted from the other, [Cain] said [to has brother], I will certainly kill thee. [Abel] answered, God only accepteth [the offering] of the pious;

Sura al-Ma'ida 5:97 (Hanf+Shaf) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Ma'ida 5:97 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

5:97 God hath appointed the Caaba, the holy house, an establishment for mankind; and [hath ordained] the sacred month, and the offering, and the ornaments hung [thereon]. This [hath he done] that ye might know that God knoweth whatsoever [is] in heaven and on earth, and that God is omniscient.

Sura al-An'am 6:119 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-An'am 6:119 (Malik) - At'ima (Food)

6:119 And why do ye not eat of that whereon the name of God hath been commemorated? Since he hath plainly declared unto you what he hat forbidden you; except that which ye be compelled to by necessity [eat of]: Many lead [others] into error, because of their appetites, being void of knowledge; but thy Lord well knoweth [who are] the transgressors.

Sura al-An'am 6:121 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-An'am 6:121 (Shaf+Hanb) - At'ima (Food)

6:121 Eat not therefore of that whereon the name of God hath not been commemorated; for this is certainly wickedness: But the devils will suggest unto their friends, that they dispute with you [concerning this precept]; but if ye obey them, ye [are] surely idolaters.

Sura al-An'am 6:138 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

6:138 They also say, these cattle and fruits of the earth are sacred; none shall eat thereof but who we please, - according to their imagination; - and [there are] cattle whose backs are forbidden [to be rode on, or loaden with burthens]; and [there are] cattle on which they commemorate not the name of God [when they slay them], devising a lie against him: God shall reward them for that which they falsely devise.

Sura al-Hajj 22:28 (Hanf+Malik+Shaf) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Hajj 22:28 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-Hajj 22:28 (Hanb) - At'ima (Food)

22:28 that they may be witnesses of the advantages [which accrew] to them [from the visiting this holy place], and may commemorate the name of God on the appointed days, [in gratitude] for the brute cattle which he hath bestowed on them. Wherefore eat thereof, and feed the needy, [and] the poor.

Sura al-Hajj 22:30 (Malik+Shaf) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Hajj 22:30 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

22:30 This [let them do]. And whoever shall regard the sacred ordinances of God; this will be better for him in the sight of his Lord. [All sorts of] cattle are allowed you [to eat], except what hath been read unto you, [in former passages of the Koran, to be forbidden]. But depart from the abomination of idols, and avoid speaking that which is false: Being orthodox in respect to God,

Sura al-Hajj 22:33 (Hanf+Malik+Hanb) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Hajj 22:33 - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

22:33 Ye receive various advantages from the [cattle designed for sacrifices], until a determined time [for slaying them]: Then the place of sacrificing them [is] at the ancient house.

Sura al-Hajj 22:36 (Shaf) - Sawm (Fasting)
Sura al-Hajj 22:36 (Malik+Shaf+Hanb) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Hajj 22:36 (Hanf+Malik+Hanb) - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)
Sura al-Hajj 22:36 (Hanb) - At'ima (Food)

22:36 The camels [slain for sacrifice] have we appointed for you as symbols of your obedience unto God: Ye [also] receive [other] advantages from them. Wherefore commemorate the name of God over them, [when ye slay them], standing on their feet disposed in right order: And when they are fallen down [dead], eat of them; and give to eat [thereof both] unto him who is content [with what is given him, without asking], and unto him who asketh. Thus have we given you dominion over them, that ye might return [us] thanks.

Sura al-Fath 48:27 (Malik+Shaf+Hanb) - Hajj (Pilgrimage)
Sura al-Fath 48:27 (Hanb) - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

48:27 Now hath God in truth verified unto his apostle the vision, [wherein he said]; ye shall surely enter the holy temple [of Mecca], if God please, in full security; having your heads shaved, and your hair cut: Ye shall not fear: For God knoweth that which ye know not; and he hath appointed [you], besides this, a speedy victory.

Sura al-Kawthar 108:2 (Hanf+Malik+Shaf+Hanb) - Salat (Liturgical Prayers)
Sura al-Kawthar 108:2 (Malik) - Sawm (Fasting)
Sura al-Kawthar 108:2 (Hanb) - Dhaba'ih (Sacrifice)

108:2 Wherefore pray unto thy Lord, and slay [the victims].
