31. Answering the worldview of unitarian biblical counterfeits -- ISLAM
b) The fickleness (instability) of AllahThe Quran presents Allah as a fickle being who can do whatever he wishes even if it goes against what he has said before. Compare these statement of the Quran about Christ:
If Allah in the Quran is unchanging, then his blessing on Jesus and Mary would stand no matter what. But from Q 5:17, we can see that is not the case. Allah - in theory - can, if he wishes, annihilate Jesus and Mary and everyone else. That means: such a god can’t be our standard for anything (morality, logic, salvation and so on), because we would have no way to know if he has changed his mind or not. We can’t trust such a god about the way he set up for salvation, as he might change his mind. In 1 Corinthians 1:9 we are told “God, who has called you into fellowship with His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful.” He doesn’t change (Malachi 3:6), He doesn’t lie (1 Samuel 15:29, Hebrews 6:18). Within the biblical worldview it stands to reason why we should trust in what God says, but the same doesn’t work for Allah. Whatever the Muslim might think Allah said, is really irrelevant, as Allah might have changed or will change. After all, even Jesus and Mary can’t really be saved from annihilation, even after being blessed with peace. And even Mohammed, in the Quran, doesn’t know what might happen to him as we will see later. |
