12.1. Areas of agreement

1. God is the creator and sustainer of the universe (although the Muslim view is very fatalistic).
2. God is sovereign.
3. There is life after death.
4. There is eternal punishment or reward (though we don’t agree on the details).
5. There are good and evil spirits. (As well as angels, Muslims also believe in Jinn; some Jinn are Muslims and some are not.)
6. Jesus was born of a virgin through a miraculous conception.
7. Jesus lived a sinless life.
8. Jesus performed many miracles.
9. Jesus is the Messiah (but Muslims don’t understand the Biblical meaning of Messiah).
10. Jesus ascended into heaven (but Muslims don’t believe in the death and resurrection of Christ).
11. There is heaven and hell, (though there is significant disagreement on the details).
