9.5. Spiritual forces of evil
Do we think, even for a minute, that the prince of darkness would let 20% of the world’s population slip out of his hand easily? One of the things we Christians often fail to keep in our mind constantly is the power of darkness. Though we know that the ultimate power belongs to God, this doesn’t stop Satan from doing everything he can to stop the gospel by leading astray as many people as possible – even attempting to lead astray the elect (Matthew 24:24). Paul acknowledges the reality of this struggle:
“For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.” (Ephesians 6:12)
