The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

145 - DEVOTING THINGS

Leviticus 17:28 -- “Nevertheless no devoted offering that a man may devote to the LORD of all that he has, both man and beast, or the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed; every devoted offering is most holy to the LORD.”

All things devoted in general terms belong to the priest.

Leviticus 27:21 -- “But the field, when it is released in the Jubilee, shall be holy to the LORD, as a devoted field; it shall be the possession of the priest.”

Things devoted to the priests cannot be redeemed, and like the heave-offering must be given to them. Things devoted to the temple can be redeemed for their full value, the redemption-money then belonging to the temple treasury, and the things redeemed may be used for any secular purpose.*
