115 - SLAUGHTERING THE PASSOVER OFFERING WHILE LEAVENED BREAD REMAINS IN OUR POSSESSION

Exodus 23:18 -- “You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leavened bread; nor shall the fat of My sacrifice remain until morning.”

Exodus 34:25 -- “You shall not offer the blood of My sacrifice with leaven, nor shall the sacrifice of the Feast of the Passover be left until morning.”

By this prohibition it is forbidden to slaughter the Paschal lamb while leavened bread remains in the possession of him who slaughters the offering. The punishment for violation of this prohibition is whipping.
