The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

200 - CHAMETZ BEING SEEN IN OUR HABITATIONS DURING PESACH

Exodus 13:7 -- “Unleavened bread shall be eaten seven days. And no leavened bread shall be seen among you, nor shall leaven be seen among you in all your quarters.”

The Talmud explains: “Scripture begins the prohibition with leaven and concludes it with leavened bread,* to teach us that leaven and leavened bread are the same.”**: that is to say, there is no difference between leaven and that which is leavened.

* With reference, as Rashi says, to the verse: For seven days no leaven shall be found in your houses, since whoever eats what is leavened, that same person… etc (Exodus 12:19)
