UNIT 01 - PREVIEW: What to expect in this ministry course
023 - Preview of Unit 15: Dimension 3 = Sin, Judgement and God's Salvation in Bible and KoranThe third dimension of biblical teachings concerns sin, judgment and God's salvation. Here we distinguish three levels, which we look at successively in view of how the Koran took up the respective biblical teachings: Level 1 - life and death in Bible and Koran (God's life and life on earth; why do we die? illness, suffering and war; God's judgments and death penalties; and eternal penalties);
Level 2 - sin, guilt and salvation in Bible and Koran (here we highlight sixteen different metaphors for salvation used in the Bible with appropriate descriptions of sin, i.e. salvation as:
an enlightenment and new creation;
a quickening and new birth;
an adoption;
a repentance and forgiveness;
a purification and healing;
an atonement;
a blessing and help;
a reconciliation;
a redemption and liberation; as well as
an acquittal and justification);
Level 3 - resurrection and eternity in Bible and Koran (eschatology and the resurrection of the dead; Christ's return; God's day of judgment; eternal life).
