A Ministry Course on Biblical Content in the Koran
STAGE 2 - Biblical PASSAGES and Biblical PERSONALITIES in the Koran
UNIT 09 - INVESTIGATE CHANGES: Examples of Biblical Texts on Adam Changed in the Koran - Analysis, Explanation and Application
09.1 - CHANGE EXAMPLE 1: Adam in the Garden and the interdiction to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil (Genesis 2:15-17 changed in the Koran)
09.1.2 - Element 2: The purpose of Adam in the Garden of Eden

156 - Element 2: EXPLANATION - The difference between the biblical and koranic concepts of Paradise

This has a fundamental significance for a biblical work ethic. Even in the Garden of Eden there was work to do, which means that work belongs to what man ideally is. He was not created for pure enjoyment, but for work. He can and is to make a difference through his work, even in Paradise.

By omitting this detail from the Bible, the Koran fundamentally changed the foundation of all work ethics compared to the Bible. Adam and his spouse according to the Koran did not have to do anything in the Jannah garden; they only had to eat with pleasure from it, as we will see in 09.1.4 - Element 4 below.

Could it be that this is the reason, why the Koran teaches that at the end of time, when Muslims get out of Hell (Sura 19:72) and then into the Jannah (Paradise) they do not expect toil and work there, but pure sensual enjoyment?

The Bible does not have this end-time perspective. It promises that there will be no tears nor sorrow in heaven (Revelation 21:4), but it never promises there will be no work to be done, when we will be with our Father in heavenly glory forever. Here you have a change of biblical material in the Koran, which has repercussions that reach right into eternity!
