The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora
23 - LEVITICAL SERVICES IN THE SANCTUARY
Numbers 18:7 -- “But the Levites shall perform the work of the tabernacle of meeting, and they shall bear their iniquity; it shall be a statute forever, throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they shall have no inheritance.”
Deuteronomy 18:7 -- “Then he may serve in the name of the LORD his God as all his brethren the Levites do, who stand there before the LORD.”
The Levites alone are to perform certain services in the Sanctuary, such as the closing of the gates, the slaughtering, and the burning of the incense during the offerings.
The young Levite was not permitted to do any service in the Sanctuary until he had gone through a five-year period of initiation or preparation .*
