The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 1 - The 248 Positive Commandments of the Tora

83 - BRINGNING THE OFFERING IF THE FIRST FESTIVAL

Deuteronomy 12:5-6 -- 5 “But you shall seek the place where the LORD your God chooses, out of all your tribes, to put His name for His dwelling place; and there you shall go. 6 There you shall take your burnt offerings, your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand, your vowed offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.”

According to the sages, the verse in question makes it a duty to bring all due offerings on the arrival of any one of the three festivals, and one who fails to do so thus violates a positive commandment. One who fails to bring his due offerings on the arrival of the third successive festival further violates the negative commandment in the verse; you shall not delay to pay it (Deuteronomy 23:21).
