143 - THE PRIEST'S DUE IN THE SLAUGHTER OF EVERY CLEAN ANIMAL
Deuteronomy 18:3 -- "And this shall be the priest's due from the people, from those who offer a sacrifice, whether it is bull or sheep: they shall give to the priest the shoulder, the cheeks, and the stomach.”
The Mishnah declares this commandment to be binding “both in the Land of Israel and outside it, both during the existence of the temple and after it.”*
