97 - CAUSING AN OFFERING TO BECOME BLEMISHED
Leviticus 22:21 -- “And whoever offers a sacrifice of a peace offering to the LORD, to fulfill his vow, or a freewill offering from the cattle or the sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no defect in it.”
In the “Mishneh Torah”, Maimonides states that one who causes a blemish in an offering at a time when the Temple is not in existence violates the negative commandment under consideration, but is not liable to whipping since offerings are not acceptable upon the altar.*
