156 - APPEARING ON A FESTIVAL WITHOUT A SACRIFICE
Exodus 23:15 -- “You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread; you shall eat unleavened bread seven days, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month of Abib, for in it you came out of Egypt; none shall appear before Me empty”
A person “appearing” in the Sanctuary during the days of the festival was not obliged to bring the prescribed offerings – i.e. a burnt offering (Positive Command 53) and a peace offering (Positive Command 52) – every day; but the law gave him permission to do so if he wished, for this is one of the things for which no measure is prescribed.*
