316 - CURSING A RULER
Exodus 22:28 -- “You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.”
A Nasi (or a judge) can forgo honor due to him, but cannot nullify a curse uttered against him. Hence the reviler is punished even if the Nasi pardons him.*
* Shoftim, Hilchoth Sanhedrin XXVI, 6
Whoever reviles the sages will have no portion in the World to Come.*
