053 -- OLD TESTAMENT Part 1 (Torah) in the Koran

This first part of the Bible has 82,794 words, 5,852 verses and 187 chapters in the following five books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. This is the part of the Bible from which the Koran has drawn the largest amount of biblical material. Here are examples of what the Koran has included and omitted from the Torah:

INCLUDED: The Koran included from the Torah verses about the creation of the world in six days, about Adam eating from forbidden fruit, about Noah surviving a flood with his family, about Abraham and his sons Ishmael and Isaak, about Jacob having sons, including the story of Joseph, about Moses, his brother Aaron and their sister Miryam, about the Plagues and the Exodus event, as well as a number of commandments given by God to the people of Israel. The verses in the Koran that are rooted in the Torah amount to around 1,500 verses. Here are the main passages of the Koran that take up content from the Torah (not included in this list are minor passages and individual verses on the respective Torah-passages): On Creation (Genesis 1): 2:163-165, 6:94-104, 10:3-6, 13:2-4, 14:32-34, 15:16-27, 16:1-21.65-72.77-83, 20:1-8.49-55, 21:30-33, 23:12-20.78-83, 24:41-46, 25:45-54.59-62, 27:59-61, 30,17-23, 31:10-11.25-29, 32:4-11, 35:1-4.11-16, 36:33-43.77-83, 39:5-7, 40:61-65, 41:9-12, 42:10-12, 43:9-14, 51:47-51, 55:1-13, 56:35-38, 57:1-6, 64:1-3, 67:1-5, 71:13-20, 77:20-28, 78:6-16.27-32, 88:17-18 -- On Adam (Genesis 2-3): 2:30-37, 7:11-27, 15:28-43, 17:61-65, 20:115-123, 38:71-84 -- On the sons of Adam (Genesis 4): 5:27-32 -- On Noah (Genesis 6-11): 7:59-64, 10:71-73, 11,25-48, 23:23-28, 26:106-118, 71:2-12.21-28 -- On Abraham (Genesis 12-25): 2:124-136, 6:74-81, 11:69-81, 15:51-74, 19:41-58, 20:9-48, 21:51-72, 26:69-93, 26:60-171, 27:54-57, 29:16-35, 37:83-113 -- On Joseph (Genesis 35-50): 12:4-103 -- On Moses (Exodus to Deuteronomy): 7:103-166, 10:76-92, 11:84-99, 17:101-104, 20:56-97, 26:10-40.46-66, 27:7-14, 28:7-45.76-82, 40:25-46, 43:46-56, 44:17-33.
OMITTED: Since the Torah has 5,852 verses and the Koran has around 1,500 verses that take up material from the Torah, it is clear that most of the content of the Torah has been omitted in the Koran. Here are important examples: The Koran omitted from the Torah all genealogies, all chronological and geographical details, all names of women, most names of the children, specifically the names of the sons of Jacob (= the names of the tribes of Israel), then all details about the Tabernacle and the sacrifices that were offered there. Also, the details about the feasts of Israel, their priests and most commandments that God gave his people were omitted in the Koran.
