The Sharia of Moses in the TORA
Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

56 - OFFERING PEACE TO AMMON OR MOAB

Deuteronomy 23:6 -- “You shall not seek their peace nor their prosperity all your days forever.”
Deuteronomy 20:10 -- “When you go near a city to fight against it, then proclaim an offer of peace to it.”

In the “Mishneh Torah”, Maimonides says that the commandment prohibits us only from offering proposals of peace to Ammon or Moab, but not from accepting proposals of peace made by them.*

* Mishneh Torah, Shoftim, Hilchoth Melachim VI, 6
