119 - ADDITION EXAMPLE 1: ANALYSIS of this addition - Overview: 11 subjects in six parallel koranic passages

This is a major non-biblical addition of the Koran to biblical material about Adam. With its 48 verses this non-biblical addition comprises nearly 40% of all Koran verses on Adam. There are six different passages in the Koran that take up this non-biblical addition on Adam. They run more or less parallel to each other. In all there are 11 different subjects presented in these six Koran passages. In the following synoptic analysis, we present the contribution of each of these six koranic passages (if any) to the respective subject. These 11 subjects constitute a summary of the content of this non-biblical material on Adam in the Koran:

1. It concerns the situation, when Allah created the first human being;
2. Allah commanded all angels to worship Adam right after his creation;
3. All angels obeyed and worshiped the newly created Adam, except one: Iblis (an Arabic transliteration of the Greek diabolos, which in English is transliterated as Devil);
4. Allah then asked Iblis, why he disobeyed the command to worship Adam;
5. Iblis offered an excuse for disobeying Allah;
6. Therefore, Allah punished Iblis with expulsion from the Garden of Paradise;
7. But Iblis asked Allah for a delay of this punishment until the final resurrection at the end of time;
8. Thereupon Allah granted Iblis such a delay until Judgment Day;
9. Then Iblis described how he plans to harass humans until the end of time;
10. Allah did not forbid Iblis from pursuing this plan, but approved of it more or less, however Allah's Muslims are to be excluded from this harassment plan of Iblis;
11. Finally, Allah warned Adam of Iblis and the danger of him ousting Adam from the Garden of Paradise.

In the following 11 synoptic steps you can read the contribution of each of the six koranic passages (if any) to every one of these 11 subjects:
