174 - Opening: John 17:17 and Prayer
“Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.” (John 17:17)
PRAYER: Heavenly Father! Our lives are spiritually impure, because we have followed the deceptions and lies of Satan. We need your holiness, which is your spiritual purity. In his prayer just before obeying you to the point of death on the cross, your Son Jesus Christ revealed that it is your truth that makes us spiritually clean and thus holy. And your truth is indissolubly connected to your word, because you cannot lie. We open our hearts to your word, which is truth so that it can do what we can never do: it makes us holy and thus spiritually pure. Thank you that through your word we have purified fellowship with you our Holy Father. Amen.
