Part 2 - The 365 Prohibitions of the Tora

285 - APPOINTING AN UNLEARNED JUDGE

Deuteronomy 5:20 --You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”
Deuteronomy 6:18 -- “And you shall do what is right and good in the sight of the LORD, that it may be well with you, and that you may go in and possess the good land of which the LORD swore to your fathers.”
Deuteronomy 19:19 -- “Then you shall do to him as he thought to have done to his brother; so you shall put away the evil from among you.”
Exodus 20:16 --You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

Contravention of this commandment entails whipping, in certain circumstances, as is made clear at the beginning of Tractate Makkoth, where the provisions of this commandment are explained.
